Discipline over motivation

When I was 14 I was scrolling through YouTube and I came across a popular bodybuilder of name David Laid. He had posted a video with a few million views called "my transformation". The thumbnail was intriguing as it showed a before and after picture of him when he was 14 and 17, and he was jacked. I clicked on the video and watched as this scrawny little kid had the guts to walk into an open gym and lift weights so light that even a grandma would laugh, but he didn't stop doing it. In fact, he stayed consistent and kept working out with the one goal in mind to succeed. And eventually, after a few hard years of work and discipline, the skinny kid we all knew was now an internet sensation. This inspired and motivated me so much as a 14-year-old scrawny kid because I believed that I could do it just like him. But that motivation only lasted maybe a few days at most. Although my motivation to work out depleted swiftly I was committed to looking my best and breaking my personal records. Fast forward 83 weeks, I'm now in the best shape I've ever been and I'm continuing to break my records. What I've learned and experienced in this time of my life is there will always be times when you don't feel motivated to fulfilling whatever task you have that day, but having the discipline to meet those tasks anyway will always prevail. I've been told it takes 21 days to create a habit and 90 days to create a lifestyle and that's absolutely true. What that rule doesn't tell you though is how hard it is to continue with whatever you're trying to accomplish without the motivation to do so. But that's what separates the 1% from the 99%. The 1% will have the discipline to get it done despite having to motivation to do so. Discipline will always prevail, unlike motivation.
